Gettin back into the swing of things......

So now that things have died down and we are settling into our new groove, I am finally able to start my own crafting again. Birthdays, holidays and anniversaries coming up. Plus another nephew! Gryphon Is expected in November! Lots of pattern searching and sketching out ideas for his baby book. Sock Summit '11 was AWESOME! Took a color work class and LOVED it and the teacher! Bought one of her books and a couple pairs of circs. Now to find a good old fashioned Norwegian fair aisle pattern......

We have decided that we will be moving back to my home town, Tucson, in November. We are not happy here in Oregon and are ready to go home and start over again. I am still in search for a personal artist. Haven't found anyone that quite meets my qualifications :/ Hoping to get that idea started after we get settled as well.

And now for the reason I am here.....The CRAFTS!!!!! Haven't been doing too much lately. Tonight I am hoping to find the energy to work on Birthday Cards and maybe some Christmas/Yule gifts. I would really like to get past the toe of Galadriel but we will see! Speaking of! For all you sock knitters out there I HIGHLY recommend Janel Laidman's books "The Enchanted Soul" and "The Eclectic Soul". They are well written, clear and simple instructions and great charts! Plus the patterns are EPIC! Right now I am working on Galadriel. Its stockinette stitch to just past the heel. The pattern starts there knit in the round and then splits up the leg with knit-in eyelettes to be laced up the back! Sexy? YES! I might just start wearing skirts JUST to show these off! lol ok back to the seriousness......

This is Galadriel. Aren't the gorgeous???

Once I figure out how to add a photo gallery I will.

Happy Crafting!

The Path to Neverland

The next item I would like to share with you is very special to me. It has been 5 years since I painted anything, and thanks to an acrylic stamp set I found a little inspiration and ran with it!

I have had many people ask to buy it. It is not for sale! I will, however, be happy to have it copied for anyone for $125. That covers the cost of the copy, print and shipping, plus an artist's fee.

Father's day Cards

Here are a couple of the Father's Day Cards I made this year. Not as many as Mother's Day thankfully!

Busy Busy Busy!

Holy moly I have been a busy little bee! Crafting, babies being born, birthdays, visiting family, meeting new family, working. I think I need a vacation!

First off, I am proud to announce the birth of my new nephew, Cole Michael LaPalm (Born June 10th 2011 at 6.5lbs 19 inches :)  ) Both baby and mommy are doing great and he is the brightest little ball of sunshine EVER! Now if Auntie Em could get his snuggy done and sent off to Mass....  O_o

Second, while shopping for paper for my nephew's grad card I saw a sign at my local Michael's looking for a scrapbook class instructor! Was that sign meant for me or what??? So I applied, was hired and have began working on my demos for my classes (schedule will be up for those of you in the Beaverton Or area) I am in love with my job. The projects are great (yes, I'll admit, even the ones with glitter) and easy to prepare for! Plus I have picked up sooo many ideas for my future business!

UofA Bot

With a surprise trip down to Tucson to see my nephew graduate High School (and visit family), I needed to make him something silly and personal. Rebecca Danger is one of my favorite knitted toy designers and I have found so much inspiration using her patterns. Her original pattern for "Lovebot" helped me create this UofA themed gift for him! Congrats Chris! I am so proud of you! ♥

Mother's Day Cards!

This Mother's Day I made 10 cards! Here are a couple of my favorites!

Ok, so next step will be to figure out how to rotate the pictures! Sorry for the neck strain!

Hello!

Hello Everyone!
My name is Emma (Em) and I am a crafter of all trades! I sew, knit, crochet, wood burn....You name it, I do it (or learn to if it sparks my interest). My one and true love of crafting is Scrapbooking and Cardmaking. I love working with paper and ink and stamps and whatever else I can get my hands on. I try to use all kinds of materials in my work and really capture the memory I am trying to bring alive.

One day, I hope to open my own shop full of hand made goods, work shops and classes to teach people how to express their own creativity.

I hope you all enjoy my artwork!

Love ♥
Emma!
