Update: National Scrapbooking Month Layouts

I have been having so much fun preparing the layouts for National Scrapbooking Month! I have 13 layouts ready to be posted, I am waiting on the rest of my supplies to be delivered tomorrow. I am not 100% sure that I will be able to push to 30 layouts with this paper pack so we are going to see how many can be done and fill in the holes with layouts using ChantillyClaire and Buzz and Bumble.

Also, coming soon for my In-Town followers: Very soon there will be a tab at the top of the home page called "In-Town Events". I will have an ongoing list of events coming up such as classes, workshops, monthly clubs and more! There will be more information coming about all of this as all the little pieces fall into place.

National Scrapbooking Month Layouts

May is National Scrapbooking Month, and as you know we have an awesome deal going on. The Dream Pop Paper Pack is available for $10 with an order of $35 or more. 24 beautiful sheets of quality cardstock, 12 solid, 12 patterned full of bright colors and bold prints. I love the pack, the colors just make you smile! So to celebrate National Scrapbooking Month, I am going to show one layout a day for the entire month of May!

I have chosen layouts from the Reflections Scrapbook Program book. This book is such a time saver. It has more then 100 layouts to choose from, including variation and suggestions for complimenting layouts. Every post will tell you which layout was used and any notes for changes so you can make your favorites. There are a few that are my own sketches. Each of those posts will specify and I will be more then happy to email you a copy of the sketch. Each post will also contain a list of all supplies used, including which papers from the paper pack and anything else I added. Some links will appear for featured products and tools.

There is one major challenge in this projects folks. Stretching 24 sheets of paper to create 31 different layouts. So to help, I will be adding a just few items from my stash like solid color cardstocks as bases or stamps, punches and my Cricut for extra embellishments. A detailed list of supplies and any paper-saving tricks I use will be added to each post so you can use them too!

There is a purpose to this album too! All of the pages will be filled with photos of  my 6 beautiful nieces (no photos will be added to the layouts). They are a bunch of bright, goofy little ladies and I think this paper pack matches each of them perfectly!

So stay tuned. Posts will start May 1st at 6:30am (Az)

Studio J - Scrapbooking for the computer savvy!

So today, I have been playing a little bit with the Close To My Heart Studio J Online Scrpabooking Program and I have to admit.....I am impressed! Yes, I have been at arms distance with the whole "online scrapbooking" thing but I had so much fun playing and putting together layouts. It was nice to be able to create layouts without getting all my stuff out and then putting it all away. And my 3yo was playing with his trains next to me! It’s always a plus when I can scrapbook with my kids awake. You can choose from preset layouts and designs and add your own photos, journaling and title. Or you can design your own using digital versions of all the products we carry. Once you are happy with your layout, just order your prints. The will arrive in a protective sleeve ready to be added to your family scrapbook. Even the non-craftiest person could put together their own album using this program. Each 2 page layout set is only $6.95! That’s all the embellishments, papers, photos, and accents for less the $3.50/page! The software is free, all you have to do is create an account, upload your photos and start playing! You can get started here or click the Studio J tab at the top of the page. Have fun and don’t forget to share your layouts!

Lattice Tutorial

As promised, the lattice tutorial! Its quick and simple and you can add it anywhere to any project.

Supplies: A piece of cardstock to act as your base. The one used in the tutorial is 4x6 white cardstock. 1/4inx8 1/2in strips of cardstock. I used Kraft. I cut about 20 of them but did not use all of them. Elmer's All Purpose White Glue (or your favorite liquid adhesive)
Self healing mat
Sharp craft knife (I used my rotary blade)
Paper trimmer

Get your supplies ready....Here we go!
Step one- Set up! With repositionable adhesive, stick your base down on the self healing mat. I do this so my base stays still while I am building my lattace.

Step 2- add a dot of glue along each side where each one inch mark is. Then place your strips diagonally accross the base starting in one corner and working to the other.

Step 3- Now you can go the other direction with your strips, spacing them the same way you spaced the first layer.

Step 4- Trim all of your edges with your craft knife and ruler.

Step 5- Finally, add your top and bottom strips to complete the piece. Make sure they are all going the same direction. If you put the top one first, do the bottom next and add the sides last. Trim all edges.

And here is the finnished piece! Now all that is left to do is add the flowers and adhear it to my project. You can do this with any color combination, any flower for any look. And you can make it at any size to fit your project perfectly!

Have a good day everyone!

Roxybonds Scrappers Team Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Roxybonds Scrappers Team Blog Hop!

We will be featuring artwork from the Chantilly Paper Pack.

If you have come here from Tess's blog, then you are on the right path. Your next stop will be Karen's Blog

Today I have created a 2 page 12x12 layout using the Chantilly papers.  I love the bright colors in this paper line. They reminds me so much of Spring. I used 2 layouts from the My Reflections Scrapbooking Program book and cut all my papers to size. Before I adhered anything down I added my stamping where I wanted it. I also turned the photo mat on the Right page at the top into a pocket so I could hide my jornaling. I am intending for the layouts to be about my 2 youngest nieces and realized that I didn't have much space for jorunaling after I add the pictures. Oops! When all of my paper was adhered, I added embellishments. I was so excited to use the Chantilly Chipboard Accents and it was easy to assemble my little cluster on the Right page. I even used one as the title! Some pieces are adhered using pop dots, others are flat on the paper. I wanted to add a little dimension.  My favorites of all though, are the Pink Glitter Gems. They add just enough sparkle around the birds and flowers to accent them. To help finnish my layout I used Color Ready Seam Binding and a little stitching here and there with white cotton floss.
